Our Gatherings
Spiritual Gatherings
These gatherings are all different in focus and style yet they have much in common.
They have different levels of solitude or companionship.
They have different levels of structure or guidance.
Each is designed to help you seek and find, knock and find truth and the experience of God opened to you.
What are you looking for?
You are welcome, whatever your age, culture or gender. We are a smallish vibrant community of people who seek God and follow Jesus' ways.
What can you expect? Easy parking, a warm welcome, help finding our kids ministry (Seeds), coffee on the way in and a seat if you need it. We sing, share communion and reflect on faith and life, personally and together. You can slide in the back or jump right in. We hope you will find our preaching is insightful, dynamic and varied.
We invite you to visit and to connect when you are ready.

On Sunday nights we pay attention to growing the health of our souls
Meeting fortnightly, we discuss reading or audio learning we have done, and a related Soul Training exercise we have practised during the fortnight.
It is skilfully facilitated by experienced pastors and spiritual directors. That means you can be a full rooky or an experienced follower and gain from this community experience.
Come and grow together.

30- 40 minutes
Join online as we are guided in a gospel contemplation, lectio divina or other meditation practices. Expert facilitation helps you connect with the God who loves you, refining your ability for two way communication with God. Once you have joined, you can exit camera on mode and participate in the privacy of your own space and relationship with God. Feedback and sharing is also offered but never required.

Exploring the big questions in life is important. Have you explored life, faith, and meaning? Alpha is a place where you can bring all your questions. No question is too big or too small to explore.
We start with a meal, a short video to kick off discussion (available with multiple languages in subtitles), then some refreshments and treats with discussion time.

Shared Tables are where we walk more richly with each other. You can try one or two when you are ready to connect a little. They are all different because people and lives are different, so its okay to take time to find a great fit.
What happens? the Shared Table will meet at someone's home or a cafe or park in great weather. Usually monthly. We share food and lives together. Most groups share a Whatsapp channel to stay in touch with each other for arranging things, sharing needs and great news, as well as the occasional joke or meme.

Coffee Friday is on the first and third Friday's and we meet for companionship and general conversation about things that matter to you.
Both groups meet at 68 Waverley Community Centre. Cost is $5 and includes morning tea. Check it out a time or two for free.

These guided walks give you a gentle wander through the bushland in the Dianella Regional Open Space. Your guide has a sound knowledge of the local flora and enjoys sharing that knowledge and learning new things too.
The Noongar Season ‘Kambarang' is represented by the colour yellow as it symbolises the return of the hot weather.
During Kambarang season,we see an abundance of colours and flowers exploding all around us.
The yellows of many of the acacias continue to abound, along with some of the banksias and many other smaller delicate flowering plants including the kangaroo paw and orchids.
During this time the balgas will continue to flower, especially if they've been burnt in the past year or closely shaved.
One of the most striking displays of flowers to be seen during this season will be the moojar, or Australian Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda). The bright orange-yellow flowers serve to signal the heat is on its way.
October is also the most likely time of the year that you'll encounter a snake as the reptiles start to awaken from their hibernation and look to make the most of the warm to assist them in getting enough energy to look for food.
It's also a time that many young families of birds will be singing out for their parents to feed them. Koolbardies (magpies) will be out protecting their nests and their babies.
Many things are undergoing transformation with the warm change in the weather and longer dry periods accompany a definite warming trend.
